Message from the NHGA President
Greetings fellow Hop Heads!
As our spring is winding down here at 6th Meridian, we’re excited to see another season of hops chasing the sun up the coir. Every year brings new challenges and friends.
Up north here we had our kitchen crew out stringing and training in our yard, it doesn’t seem like much work but after the first bale of coir, dishes in the kitchen don’t seem as daunting. Again with this year we’ll be making adjustments. Some of our rows will be tilled in between to measure the effects of ground covers. We’ll be experimenting with a new organic burn down of compost juice, Regalia, and borax. And of course we’ll have our farm open to folks again serving up beer from breweries using local hops.
Thoughts and plans are already moving for the next Hop Cup with our dedicated executive team and here’s to another great year of Nebraska hops!
Prost!
Ryan Heine
